Gambling has formally been legalised in Ukraine on the 11th of August 2020 when the country’s president signed the long-awaited Ukrainian Gambling Act.
The Gambling Bill, 2285 D, was presented to the president, Volodymyr Zelensky subsequent to the Ukrainian parliament, Verkhovna Rada, passing it 248 to 95 in the second reading.
The newly enacted bill paves the way for an open, regulated gambling market, legalising land-based casinos (limited to five star hotels in Kiev as well as four and five star hotels outside the capital), online gaming (including gambling, poker and betting), slot machines and lotteries.
AGU (All-In Gaming Ukraine) 2021 will unite leading local and international gaming industry leaders to discuss opportunities and challenges in the newly regulated Ukrainian gaming market and explore how stakeholders can gain from the substantial positive impact the new law will have on the various business sectors in the region.
